However, you will need to have certain characteristics if you want to succeed as an independent contractor. These are some of the main characteristics that will be important for your success:

Motivation

One thing you'll need to have if you want to succeed as an independent contractor is motivation. You will need to be able to motivate yourself every day to do your job. You'll also need to be skilled enough to create a schedule for yourself so that you know when you can take advantage of your time most fruitfully.

Resourcefulness

You will also need to be a resourceful person if you intend to work as an independent contractor. As an independent contractor, you'll need to find jobs for yourself every day so that you can keep your income rolling in. That means you'll have to be resourceful enough to know where all the gigs are and how you can go about getting them for yourself.

Discipline

Finally, you'll need to have the discipline to succeed as an independent contractor. As mentioned previously, you will have a lot of freedom when you work for yourself. You'll need to implement effective strategies so that you don't spend too much time playing and not enough time working. You'll need to know how to set boundaries for yourself and stick to them.
